Material Handler/Inventory Control

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Material Handler/Inventory Control specialist to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing inventory accuracy, handling materials efficiently, and ensuring smooth shipping and receiving operations. Your expertise in warehouse distribution, heavy equipment operation, and inventory management will contribute to the seamless flow of goods within our facility. Duties

  • Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and move materials safely and efficiently.
  • Perform order picking using RF scanners and pickers to fulfill customer orders accurately and promptly.
  • Manage shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and updates within the warehouse management system.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards by conducting routine safety checks and adhering to proper materials handling procedures.
  • Assist in organizing warehouse space for optimal storage, including stacking pallets and managing heavy lifting tasks.
  • Support warehouse supervision in implementing operational improvements and maintaining a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in warehouse distribution, materials handling, or construction environments with a strong understanding of warehouse operations.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks; certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picking technology.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and basic maintenance is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations related to warehouse activities and materials handling.
  • Prior experience in shipping & receiving, load & unload procedures, and inventory control is essential.
